However, when it comes to world-class strikers there`s always the inevitability that other clubs, once news breaks of a possible swoop, will register an interest.
The case of Lewandowski is no different with the news vehicle, Sky Sports reporting that Manchester United, who appear to be ready to corner the market when it comes to acquiring strikers, are also interested in the player.
But it should also be pointed out that any deal to lure the striker to the Premier League, even though the striker is said to be willing to make the move, depends on one hugely significant factor.
The player is currently under contract to Bayern Munich until 2021 and you get the feeling that the Bavarian giants are unlikely to release their top-scorer, of recent years, without a good fight.
