As Chelsea prepare for the meeting with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday an update on David Luiz’s conditioning had been given by Antonio Conte.
Blues boss Conte has confirmed Luiz, despite continued treatment and improvement, is STILL troubled by the knee injury he first sustained in early December.
The Metro quotes Conte from his news conference as saying.
‘I think now his knee is better than before. But he needs to have treatment and to continue to have good treatment for his knee.’
Luiz hasn’t been at full fitness since a dreadful challenge on the 29 year old, in the win over Man City at the Etihad Stadium back in December, from Argentine striker Sergio Aguero.
Previous reports said Chelsea are looking to nurse Luiz through until the end of the season, which would afford him the odd break when possible. However, a meeting with Man City isn’t a game for this so the Brazilian international will be involved for the Blues.
We’ll have to keep a close eye on Luiz and Aguero as this ongoing feud probably hasn’t reached a conclusion, has it?
