Losing 2-0, at Old Trafford, to a Jose Mourinho managed Manchester United side, was a bitter pill to swallow.
However, if you are prepared to accept the highs of winning as a Chelsea supporter, you need to take a deep breath and accept the lows of losing, however much it hurts.
Following the defeat, I took the opportunity to delve into the form and record books to bring you a few fascinating facts:
1 – The performance was so poor yesterday that Chelsea didn`t manage a single shot on target. This hasn`t happened since September 2007 when, by some strange coincidence we were also playing Manchester United at Old Trafford.
2 – The defeat handed out to Chelsea yesterday, ended a run of 4 wins and 4 draws against Manchester United.
3 – The defeat also saw Manchester United, at Chelsea`s expense, extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 22 games which includes 12 wins and 10 draws.
4 – After, earlier in the season, keeping clean-sheets with relative ease, Chelsea have now gone 10 Premier league games without keeping a clean-sheet.
5 – The goal Chelsea conceded in the 7th minute was the earliest Chelsea have conceded in the Premier League since Skrtel scored for Liverpool, in the 3rd minute, back in December 2013.
6 – Although he spent much of the match man-marking Eden Hazard, the Manchester United midfielder, Ander Herrera, still managed to score and provide an assist in the same game for the first time since he did so against Everton back in October 2015.
7 – Jose Mourinho, in beating Chelsea at the third attempt this season, has now registered at least 1 victory against all the 34 Premier League clubs he has faced as a manager.
