This evening, Chelsea take on Huddersfield Town in their penultimate Premier League fixture of the 2017 / 2018 season.

The fixture’s outcome is important for both sides.

Chelsea need the three points on offer to keep alive, until the final day of the season, their hopes of a top-four place thereby providing entrance to the Champions League next season.

Huddersfield, however, need the points for a very different reason. The Terriers are in danger of being relegated, after just one season in the top flight.

With Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion already relegated, Huddersfield face a difficult conclusion to their season with games against Chelsea (a) and Arsenal (h). The Yorkshire side are, understandably, the pundit’s favourites to be relegated.

Tonight, we could see Antonio Conte shuffle his starting eleven as he contemplates the prospect of playing a second tough Premier League fixture in just four days.

Later, in our regular Team-News feature, we’ll reveal exactly who the boss has selected.

Meanwhile, we’re pleased to bring you our regular Match Day Moments feature whereby we invite you to leave an opinion, in our comments facility, on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to,

1 – The build-up to the last game of the season to be played at Stamford Bridge.

2 – The starting eleven selected by Antonio Conte.

3 – The action as it takes place at Stamford Bridge.

4 – Your thought in the period following the final whistle and the match report appearing on Vital Chelsea.

Fingers crossed that, come 22:00 hours UK time, we’re all celebrating a Chelsea win!

  • Crappy display so far. Too many changes from last week I think is affecting the dynamics. Ref is being an AH so far…..blows on d slightes touch on HF and nothing on Chelsea. Get Hazard in for more direct play early in second half.

  • Hazard, Giroud please, we need this win so badly, but its just not happening, poor finishing, weak line up .

    • Comment congrats to you Michael . conte will continue as Chelsea coach next season.

  • Well that’s that, beating Liverpool was for nothing, today was on Conte, poor team selection .

  • Our home form this season was appalling. Started by losing to Burnley and ended with a draw against this Huddersfield.

  • Comment some sorry fellow Chelsea fans are yet to know what conte is all about. Michael reid and his likes are still stupendously hoping to have him next season.what a shame.

  • David nwofili I have supported Conte very true, and true also this starting Eleven should have beaten Huddersfield, it does not matter anymore because Conte will be gone by the 21st of this month, and in a way he should have done more. Players are responsible also Willie,Zappa,Morata, Drink, Pedro, Willian, Fab, were all crap today. Our goal was an accident . Conte will go, but some players need to go also, and Marina(she won’t ). Blame all around for this season, clueless DOF (Marina), Miserable manager and players who did not turn up, just like 15/16 .

  • For the life of me, I can’t imagine what Conte was thinking when he named this starting XI, in such a crucial game. 6 changes from the win against Liverpool ?! Courtois was not even in the squad! It’s decisions like these this season, among many others, that will deservedly cost him his job. Congrats to Huddersfield, fought like warriors. David Wagner is one to look out for.
