Jody Morris`s Under-18 side today defeated Tottenham U18`s in the final of the inaugural Under-18 Premier League Cup.
Whilst the senior side were making their way through to the semi-final of the FA Cup the Morris Men picked up their first silverware of the season. In what Chelsea`s Official Website called a comfortable win, a Charlie Brown brace secured the 2-0 victory at Cobham.
The game kicked off at 14:00 after the ground staff had worked hard to clear a thick layer of snow from the pitch during the morning. The team lined up as follows

To get to the final Chelsea had already beaten Everton, Sunderland, Newcastle and Brighton. Games at this age group tend to be more localised so manager Morris was pleased his team had performed well on their travels,
‘We`ve faced teams who we don`t usually get to play in the southern league and going up to Sunderland then Everton in the knockout round we faced two difficult games in difficult conditions. It`s been good to see the players responding in some tough, backs-to-the-wall situations and that`s all part of their development.`
Goal scorer Charlie Brown joined Chelsea from the Suffolk club Ipswich Town in the summer of 2016. At 18 years-of-age he`s already stepped up a level joining Joe Edwards development squad. The striker is left-footed but scored both goals with his right foot.

It doesn`t matter what level these two teams meet at the rivalry in always intense. A familiar face was in the crowd to support Morris and the lads,
No longer at the club in an official capacity, John Terry remains Chelsea to the very core, and particularly the academy connection, turning up to support the U18s in their Cup Final victory this afternoon. #CFC

Chelsea`s academy set up is one of the best in the world. It was improved beyond recognition with the arrival of Roman Abramovich. The club has seen success across all age groups. It does beg the question, again, why so few make it through the ranks to Chelsea`s starting XI. Chelsea`s under 18`s are unbeaten at home now for three years. The last word goes to the manager,
