One Familiar Name Continues To Be Linked With Chelsea To Fill The Void left By Hazard’s Expected Departure But It Doesn’t Fill Me With Deep Joy

|

The forthcoming departure of Eden Hazard, to Real Madrid, will, undoubtedly, leave a huge void in the Chelsea side.

The 28-year-old is, without doubt, the most creative player in our side and is the one player that can, out of nothing, turn a game on its head.

If Chelsea are forced to serve the anticipated two-window transfer ban, then that void will need to be filled somehow with most of the Chelsea support hoping that Callum Hudson-Odoi, once he returns from injury, able to step up to the plate.

But, if Lady Luck smiles on us and the two-window transfer ban doesn’t come into place then the name of one player who has that something extra about him continues to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge with the player in question being Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho is expected to be a casualty of Barcelona’s poor season whereby they failed to make the Champions League Final and didn’t complete a domestic double.

Today, the red-top news source, the Daily Star is running with the inference that Barcelona will definitely sell the former Liverpool attacking midfielder is they receive a high enough bid for the Brazilian.

However, our referenced source is also implying that Chelsea could have competition for his signature in the shape of Manchester United.

But, with Manchester United not able to offer Champions League football next season, the balance could tip in Chelsea’s favour.

Unfortunately, when it comes to possibly signing Coutinho if our situation allows us to do so, I’m not sure which player we’ll get.

Will it be the player who performed so admirably in the Premier League with Liverpool or the player that struggled to justify the huge fee Barcelona paid for him?
