You may recall we ran an article earlier this week relating to our former Brazilian midfielder, Oscar.

It was entitled ‘Butter Wouldn`t Melt` in reference to the fact his boyish features would have you believe that he`s be the last person you`d believe would get in trouble.

However, in a recent Chinese Super League fixture between his side Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou R&F, Oscar did get into trouble.

After kicking the ball against two separate opponents, a mass brawl broke out which involved both teams and people from both benches.

Today those who run the Chinese Super League have reacted swiftly to ensure it becomes general knowledge that behaviour of this kind will not be tolerated.

Oscar who kicked off the kerfuffle, has been given an 8 game ban by the Chinese football authorities and has also been fined £4,625.

Talking about what went on, the Chinese authorities issued a statement that reads,

‘According to the referee’s report, video evidence and a written explanation from the parties involved… Oscar offended opposing players in an immoral manner, leading to a massive brawl which has had a very bad influence on the Chinese Super League’s reputation”

And there were we thinking, butter wouldn`t melt???????????
