This morning we wake to the news that Real Madrid are looking to offer their goalkeeper Keylor Navas in exchange for Thibaut Courtois. The Express are reporting that a sizeable chunk of cash could also be heading Chelsea`s way as part of the deal.
Having failed on more than one occasion to get United`s David de Gea, the Spanish giants have supposedly turned their attentions to our Belgian shot stopper.
It`s difficult to see why this offer from Madrid would interest the Chelsea hierarchy. However, with Courtois` contract expiring next year and his apparent reluctance to extend it, the time may right to cash in rather than let him leave next year for nothing.
Reading between the lines though, the source of the story appears to be linked to Thibaut`s agent. As such, you have to assume, there`s just a vague possibility he`s just trying to extract a bit more cash from Chelsea as part of the on-going negotiations.
