Hopes of John Terry making his long awaited return from injury for the crucial Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain this Wednesday evening., look to be fading fast.

Terry, who has been out of action since picking up a hamstring injury against Newcastle on February 13th, was supposed to be taking part in a behind closed doors practice match today but we`re hearing that match has now been postponed.

Talking about the race to get Terry fit for the crucial second leg of the last-16 knockout tie, Guus Hiddink is attributed as having remarked to the media,

“I don`t think John will make Wednesday.

“The match may be played on Tuesday but I don`t think he will make it.

“There has not been enough development in the problem to put him in the squad for Wednesday.

“The injury isn`t worse but, before Stoke, he did train and had treatment. John can run but he cannot go into a long stretch and has to be careful.”

It would seem then that Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic will continue at the heart of the Chelsea defence for this crucial Champions League tie.
