Official – Boga Joins Birmingham City on Loan

After spending the last two seasons on loan, the Chelsea youngster, Jeremie Boga, has packed his bags again.

In 2015 / 2016 Boga spent the season on loan with Rennes, in 2016 / 2017 Boga spent the season on loan at Grenada.

For the 2017 / 2018 season Boga will be spending the season in the far less exotic location of Birmingham, playing for our old friend Harry Redknapp in the Championship.

There were hopes that the 20-year-old would be part of the Chelsea first tea squad this season, being one of a select band to graduate from the youth system.

They were hopes that looked well placed after Boga played in some pre-season games and was also selected for the starting eleven in the opening fixture of the season, against Burnley.

However, a season it is with Birmingham City for Boga and here at Vital Chelsea we`d like to wish him well.

Official – Davide Zappacosta joins from Torino

Finally, Chelsea have got hold a player that doesn`t want to go to Liverpool and have announced their fifth signing of the current fragmented transfer window. It`s a name that has not been mentioned much during the current transfer shenanigans. Danny Rose will be all over Google.

Davide Zappacosta has joined Chelsea from Italian side Torino. The full-back was given his International debut under Antonio Conte in 2016, and he has subsequently made 4 international appearances.

Conte has been after cover for the wing-back positions throughout the summer and after a raft of departures, it seemed that time was running out. With the squad still low on numbers and competition for places non existent any arrival has to be a positive.

Whether he is ultimately good enough to push Moses or Alonso for a starting place is yet to be discovered. However, Conte ought to be able to accommodate him in his favoured 3-4-3 formation and given time, mould him into the real deal. The fee is believed to be in the region of £23m.

Here at Vital Chelsea we would like to welcome him to the club and look forward to seeing him on the pitch.

Official – Danny Drinkwater joins from Leicester City

Chelsea have finally announced the signing of Danny Drinkwater overnight, It`s a name that has been linked with a move to West London throughout the now closed transfer window. Drinkwater, has at last put pen to paper and signed a 5-year deal at Chelsea that will see him join up with his ex teammate N`golo Kante. With Leicester City holding out for top dollar for their 27 year old midfielder, the transfer has taken an age to complete.

It could easily be argued that the Foxes have vastly overvalued the midfielder. Having seen Chelsea sell Nemanja Matic to rivals Manchester United, it was obvious, that in their opinion, Chelsea should stump up that same fee for their man.

In typical Chelsea style, they have held out hoping to see the price come down, it hasn`t. By waiting until the final hours of the window, their desperation becomes ever more apparent.

But the deal is now done and as ever, here at Vital Chelsea we would like to welcome him to the club.
