The Premier League season continued with the latest round of games played during midweek.
Chelsea and Tottenham both won with the Blues lead remaining at seven points.
Arsenal’s Champions League hopes were revived but Middlesbrough and Sunderland look doomed. Swansea replaced Hull in the bottom three.

A first win in eight – but 10th of the season at Turf Moor – for Burnley was secured over Stoke. This 1-0 victory moved the Clarets up to 12th and eight points from danger. The Potters’ third straight defeat saw them drop out of the top 10.
Leicester’s fifth straight win took them into the top 10 as Craig Shakespeare’s 100% record in the Premier League goes on. Sunderland remain eight points from safety – having won just once in the last 10 – and are seemingly doomed following this 2-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium.
The Watford relegation concerns can probably be put to bed following a 2-0 win over West Brom. Back-to-back victories were secured when the Hornets – moving up to ninth in the process, but still seven points behind their eighth place visitors – beat Albion 2-0 at Vicarage Road.
Manchester United’s unbeaten run was extended to 20 games but a 12th draw of the season – a ninth at home – was only salvaged by an added time penalty against Everton. The Toffees were set to go above their Old Trafford hosts into fifth until the late drama denied the 10 men in this 1-1 draw.
Arsenal boosted their Champions League hopes on Wednesday 3-0 victory over West Ham, who are in a relegation battle having suffered a fifth straight defeat. The Gunners moved up to fifth and to within four points of Manchester City – with a game in hand.
The relegation battle between Hull and Middlesbrough ended with City – who have now won back-to-back games and three of the last four – running out 4-2 victors. This took them out of the bottom three for the first time since October but pushed second bottom Boro, seven points from safety, closer to an instant return to the Championship.
Southampton came from behind with two late goals sealing a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at St Mary’s – this keeps the Saints well placed to finish in the top 10. However, with Palace’s four game winning run ended they’re now just three points above the bottom three.
A dramatic turnaround at the Liberty Stadium saw Swansea beaten by Tottenham, dropping into the bottom three as a result. A goal down with two minutes to play Spurs drew level with an added time double sealing a 3-1 win to keep the Premier League title race alive.
Eden Hazard’s double, either side of a Manchester City equaliser, saw Chelsea to a 2-1 win over City – this maintained the Blues’ seven point advantage at the top but ended the visitors’ Premier League hopes once and for all.
Liverpool, having come from behind to lead at Anfield, dropped two points late on as Bournemouth went away with a 2-2 draw, extending an unbeaten run to five games. The Reds are now five points adrift of second place Tottenham but six ahead of Arsenal in fifth.
