Would They Sell Him?

It`s interesting to read that the rumours relating to a Barcelona move for David Luiz continue to generate column inches in the British tabloid press.

Yesterday, Cendrowski`s excellent article highlighted how the Catalan giants were sizing the situation up, now whether its being done legally or not is open to debate.

However, with the story once again hitting the headlines, this time in the tabloid gossip columns, we have to ask a simple question.

Although David Luiz was courted, and signed, during the January transfer window and then, subsequently, made a decent enough impact in the remainder of the season, could Chelsea possibly be considering selling him?

There`s no doubting that the imminent arrival of Andre Villas-Boas will provide the catalyst for some serious changes and although Chelsea appear to be edging towards complying with the incoming UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations, there is this air of uncertainty circling Stamford Bridge that infers that many believe it`s not a lot more than lip-service.

Selling the hugely popular, and almost iconic, David Luiz would raise some funds, something akin to £27.5 million, for Villas-Boas to shape the team as he sees fit but, our question once again, can you see it happening?
