Young Chelsea Striker Following A Familiar Path Suggestion

|

Is the Chelsea career of Tammy Abraham set to mirror that of Patrick Bamford?

It’s an intriguing question and one I hope you might debate.

Bamford, like Abraham, proved to be a more than capable striker in Championship football scoring regularly for both Derby County and Middlesbrough, whilst Abraham did something similar whilst on loan with Bristol City.

Bamford, given the chance to shine in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, found the going much tougher and failed to prosper. Similarly, last season Abraham struggled to find the net whilst on loan with Swansea City.

These days, Bamford is playing his football, back in the Championship, with Leeds United.

As for Abraham, he’s currently back at Stamford Bridge but, so far, unable to force his way into the first team squad.

The latest suggestion courtesy of the news source, the Birmingham Mail, is that Abraham could be set for a return to the Championship with Steve Bruce, at Aston Villa, keen to take the 20-year-old striker on loan for the remainder of the season.

Now whether Chelsea are agreeable to that inference remains to be seen, but, here at Vital Chelsea, we feel that Abraham perhaps needs to drop back down into the Championship to rediscover himself.

Is it a suggestion you concur with?
