As Newcastle head back to the Premier League, having been classy enough to jump straight back up after suffering relegation last season, some big decisions have to be made.

Newcastle, now managed by probably not the most popular manager Chelsea ever had, Rafael Benitiez, have had one of our players on loan all season, Christian Atsu.

The 25-year-old is finishing the season with a flourish netting again in as Newcastle won to keep their hopes of winning the Championship title alive.

Earlier in the week, we ran an article covering the fact that the loan deal Atsu is on gives Newcastle United a limited amount of time, once the loan spell expires, to agree to take the player on a permanent deal.

This morning, the news source The Express, are suggesting that Benitez is erring towards doing a deal for the winger, with Benitez quoted as having remarked,

“We know that he`s a good player. We have to decide.

‘I`m really pleased with him. We have to see where we are in terms of the squad and all these things.”

Clearly Atsu isn`t in the picture at Stamford Bridge, therefore a deal will, we believe, be done once a price has been agreed for the Ghanaian international.
