The news that Shevchenko is more than likely Chelsea bound has put the rumour mill into overdrive.
Already the various permutations are being calculated as to who will be leaving as part of the deal.
However, according to our sources, Mourinho would prefer the deal to be cash only and doesn?t want to be drawn into a protracted affair with Milan stalling and trying to negotiate player exchanges.
The media are already suggesting that Shevchenko will be coming to SW6 with William Gallas, Hernan Crespo and Didier Drogba making the opposite journey.
Clearly, the media haven?t been paying any attention to Mourinho?s desire to keep both Gallas and Drogba. The latter, in the tabloids this morning, has, probably through an agent, suggested he?s heard nothing yet, obviously adding fuel to the fire that he?ll be part of the deal.
The next few days are sure to be tense with officials jetting to and from Milan and the phone lines going into overdrive. In the meantime, let?s all just sit back and see what the eventual outcome is. You know it makes sense!
