Chelsea And A Familiar Rival In Chase For Defender But Could A Lack Of Champions League Football Be A Deciding Factor

|

Things are starting to warm up nicely now.

After a period where I thought the World Cup would dominate every news source, at least until England bite the dust, there is some transfer speculation starting to appear.

This morning, according to the good folk of the red-top tabloid publication, the Mirror, Chelsea are looking at bringing the Brazilian left-back, Alex Telles, to the club.

Telles, 25-years-of-age, is currently on the books of the French club, Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG are in a position whereby they must sell to satisfy the Financial Fair Play Regulations and any bid for Telles might be met with a favourable response.

However, according to our quoted source, Chelsea are not alone in wanting to bring the player to the Premier League, with Liverpool also showing an interest.

If this is the case, then Chelsea face a tough challenge to get a deal done.

Our failure to secure Champions League football last season, when we finished fifth, could see Liverpool have the edge.

But then again, living in London, as opposed to Liverpool, could swing matters our way.

Here at Vital Chelsea we’ll keep an eye open for any further developments and report back as deemed necessary.
