Chelsea Boss Has His Reason For The Latest Defeat As Title Hopes Suffer A Huge Blow

|

This time last week, with away games against Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers to come, I would have expected Chelsea to take a minimum of six points as they sought to press home their claims for a top-four finish.

This morning, I am contemplating just what went wrong with Chelsea having lost both games and taken a total of 0 points from the 6 available.

But what puzzles me the most is that in both games, Chelsea have looked a shadow of the side that, this time last week, were being tipped as Premier League title contenders.

Following the defeat, last night at Molineux, Frank Lampard, as reported by The BBC had his own views on why the wheels appear to have come off the wagon, remarking:

“There could be some fatigue.

“I hate to say it after a defeat because it feels like an excuse but even in the first 60 minutes when we were the better team, we didn’t have a zip about us.

“We’ve travelled up to Everton, came back and then travelled to Wolves but everyone is in the same boat.”

Fatigue?

Whatever happened to the good old days when come teams were quite capable of completing such a hectic schedule, often playing two games in three days or three in five?

Has the game changed so much in recent years?

Your views on Frank’s comments would be most appreciated in the comment facility beneath this article.

What we have now is softies..

Werner, havertz (replaced jorginho in the line up) odoi, ziyech, Kovacic, jorginho, Gilmour, Abraham, these are fair weather players… Not build for the hectic schedule of the Epl.

Only player trying against Everton and Wolves was the only single player who has won the Epl.. Ngolo Kante..

Yet he has played almost all the Epl matches this season.

Lampard maybe like a nice, soft trainer… Which may not help matters…. And lampard should know when to take a draw from a game, cos sometimes, taking a draw could give you a win…

Against wolves, we were 0-1 up, what’s the need of pressing so high right side, that kept opening up spaces for them on the middle…. The writing was there, but lampard can’t spot it.

After we were ahead, lampard should have reset the team.. Bring in more defenders..like Azpi and Emerson or rudiger to fight out the game.

I still maintain this, Lampard’s management doesn’t sound like a winner for me.
