Chelsea Defender Heading Back To Serie A

|

Last summer, courtesy of the FIFA imposed draconian transfer ban, Chelsea were unable to add to their squad.

This summer, with the ban now history, we’re expecting an influx of buys allied with a succession of sales.

Already today, we’ve covered in an article – the-path-looks-to-be-opening-up-for-chelsea-to-sign-this-emerging-superstar – the suggestion that Chelsea are willing to offload six players to fund the transfer of the sensational young German midfielder, Kai Havertz.

One of the players on the list, in our article, is Emerson Palmieri.

The 25-year-old hasn’t featured prominently in the starting eleven this season and his future does look to be elsewhere.

This morning, it is being reported by The Guardian that Inter Milan are in negotiations to end Emerson’s spell at Stamford Bridge.

Quite how much Chelsea will get for the left-back, in an era where COVID-19 has affected the financial side of football remains to be seen.

But, in our opinion, a move away from SW6 looks to be a solution that will benefit all parties concerned.
