The Path Looks To Be Opening Up For Chelsea To Sign This Emerging Superstar

|

Chelsea’s pursuit of the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Kai Havertz, continues to generate column inches in the media.

If you believe the media, the 21-year-old remains Chelsea’s prime summer transfer target having already raided the Bundesliga for Timo Werner.

But such a high-profile deal will, invariably, mean Chelsea have to pay a huge transfer fee.

In order to fund the deal, The Express are reporting that Frank Lampard is looking to sell at least six of the current squad, with our referenced source naming:

• Marcos Alonso
• Michy Batshuayi
• Tiemoue Bakayoko
• Kenedy
• Danny Drinkwater
• Emerson Palmieri

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’d suggest that the sale of none of the sextet would cause us sleepless nights.

But hopes that a deal can be done have been further boosted by news that has appeared in The Sun that infers Bayern Munich will not be pursuing the midfielder, this summer, claiming that post the COVID-19 pandemic, they are unable to generate the funds.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’ve got our fingers crossed that this is a deal Chelsea can get across the line as Frank Lampard attempts to assemble a squad that can push Liverpool and Manchester City all the way next season.
