Today is always a milestone we look forward to when it comes to contemplating a new season.
It is the day the fixtures are revealed and it would appear that Chelsea have been given a cracking opening day fixture.
The fixture computer has decreed that our first game will be at Old Trafford, on Sunday 11th August with Manchester United being the opposition.
As you’d expect this titanic fixture has been chosen for live TV coverage.
Chelsea’s first home game of the season will be against Leicester City, the following Saturday, although sandwiched in between is a trip to Turkey for the European Super Cup clash against Liverpool.
August finishes with two games against newly promoted sides, with Norwich visiting Stamford Bridge and Chelsea visiting Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United.

All in all, not a bad start to the season but it remains to be seen who will be in charge of the club come to the big kick-off.
