Yesterday, with the speculation relating to Frank Lampard heightening by the day, we ran an article expressing our opinion over the possible appointment of our all-time top scorer as the Chelsea boss.
Our article, Click Here, inferred that if Lampard was offered the job then he had to take it as the opportunity might not present itself again.
Well, it seems that might be precisely the case.
The Standard, are reporting that Chelsea are looking to seal the deal by the end of the week.
Although Lampard is currently on holiday, Chelsea want to avoid a repeat of last season when Antonio Conte was axed and his replacement, Maurizio Sarri, joined the club once pre-season had begun and had very little time to acclimatise himself with the goings on at Stamford Bridge.
Our referenced source is also reporting that Lampard will put pen-to-paper on a 3-year deal.
Here at Vital Chelsea, we applaud the decision, it could well be a steep learning curve for Frank but he’ll have the backing of the Chelsea support and nobody knows the club as well as he does.
Hopefully, official confirmation of his appointment will come shortly.
