Don’t you just love this time of the year?
The media’s awash with transfer speculation and a fair proportion of it surrounds our club, Chelsea.
Yesterday, the insinuation, from the media, as covered by ourselves – chelsea-closing-in-on-that-elusive-left-back-signing – was that the signing of the Leicester City left-back, Ben Chilwell, had edged closer.
But could that just be a smokescreen?
The reason I ask is that, according to corrieredellosport another player Chelsea have been linked with, Alex Sandro, could now be on the market.
A managerial change at Juventus, with Andrea Pirlo replacing the axed Maurizio Sarri, means that players are being placed on the market to generate transfer funds.
Alex Sandro, a 29-year-old Brazilian international falls into that category.
With a price tag of €40 million, Sandro would be a far cheaper option than Chilwell but would come without any Premier League experience.
But what are your views on the subject matter?
Would you opt for Chilwell or does Sandro get your vote?
