Chelsea Midfielder Picks Up Injury On International Duty

|

Injuries can strike at the most inopportune moments.

Since returning to Chelsea, after being on World Cup duty with England, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has found it hard to get much first-team action with Chelsea, managing just a couple of appearances off the bench.

Indeed, when he appeared for England, in the friendly international with Switzerland, it was the midfielders first start of the season.

However, with a plethora of fixtures coming up, with Chelsea set to embark on their Carabao Cup and Europa League campaigns, we’re certain that Loftus-Cheek would have been earmarked for the starting eleven

Unfortunately, that won’t now be the case.

It appears, that whilst playing for England, the midfielder has picked up a foot injury.

The injury is likely to keep the player sidelined for two weeks meaning he will not be available for selection for the fixtures against PAOK Salonika (Europa League) and Liverpool (Carabao Cup).

Like we said in our opening gambit, injuries can strike at the most inopportune moments.
