Chelsea’s desire to add a centre-back to their squad recently saw a surprise name appear on their radar.
With Manchester City having added the former Chelsea player, Nathan Ake, to their squad, the former England defender, John Stones, is deemed as surplus to requirements.

The result, as declared in this article, was pretty conclusive with 75% opting to vote for the NO option with only 25% going for the YES option.
There’s no doubting that Stones is, on his day, a decent centre-back but his progress has never quite matched his potential and I’m not sure that he’s the commanding figure Chelsea need to solidify a defence that could, last season, be described as porous.
