The expression flogging a dead horse springs to mind!
Yesterday, here on Vital Chelsea, we covered the latest piece of transfer speculation relating to the prospects of the West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice joining Chelsea.
Our article – chelsea-interest-in-england-international-sees-his-current-club-put-a-huge-price-on-his-head – covered the probability that Chelsea will only succeed in this audacious move if they were to offer West Ham a transfer fee in excess of £80 million, basically a hands-off warning.
But that still hasn’t seen the speculation end with The Sun reporting that Chelsea, to entice the Hammers into a sale, reputedly offered West Ham both Michy Batshuayi and Ross Barkley as part of the deal.
Unfortunately, it appears the response was still a definitive NO from West Ham who are desperate to cling on to their prized asset.
Now whether there are any legs left in this particular rumour remains to be seen but here at Vital Chelsea we’ll endeavour to keep an eye out for anything interesting and report back as deemed necessary.
