Chelsea Target Set To Consider His Future As Interest In His Services Mounts

|

Another week has gone by and still, if the media are to be believed, Chelsea’s quest to bring in a top-notch goalkeeper, to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga, hasn’t been resolved.

Among the many names that appear in the same sentence as Chelsea Football Club and a new goalkeeper is the Atletico Madrid keeper, Jan Oblak.

The 27-year-old remains one of the best out there and the transfer fee he’d command would dwarf that Chelsea paid for Kepa, but is there any chance that a deal could be done?

Perhaps so if you believe the Spanish media outlet AS which, today, is championing the suggestion that Oblak is considering his future at Atletico Madrid amid reported interest from Chelsea.

Could the lure of London and the Premier League prove to be tempting to the Slovenian keeper?

If so, there still remains the small matter of the huge buy-out cause the goalkeeper has in his current contract.

Could Chelsea meet it, or could it be negotiated downwards to a level that Chelsea would be willing to pay?

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’ll endeavour to monitor the situation and report back if there are any further developments.
