Chelsea Struggling To Get A Deal For Top Midfield Target Over The Line

|

I’m probably not the only Chelsea supporter who is keen to see Kai Havertz officially announced as a Chelsea player.

After moving swiftly to secure the services of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, Chelsea’s move to bring the 21-year-old talented midfielder to Stamford Bridge is proving a little more complicated.

While you may have read, in the media, Chelsea have reached an agreement with the player and that personal details have been agreed, it remains the small matter of the transfer fee that Bayer Leverkusen want for their asset that is proving to be the stumbling block.

The latest we have on the situation, according to The Daily Mail, is that the Bundesliga outfit will only allow the player to leave if Chelsea are prepared to pay €100 million (£90 million) for the player.

Naturally, behind the scenes, we’re sure that there is an element of bartering going on but until that deal is signed, sealed and delivered, there remains the possibility that it could all collapse and the player stats with his current club.

As is the norm, here at Vital Chelsea, we’ll keep an eye on the situation and report back as deemed appropriate.

Haverts may be the difference between challenging for the title and sweating out the fourth place.
Money well spent, (for a change).
Shortsighted penny pinching costed us Kouliballi, A. Sandro, Van Dijk etc.
Bakayoko, Drinkwater, was it 76 mil for both? Go figure.
