Diego Costa – A £20 million Problem?

Another day has dawned and yet more column inches are devoted to our top-scorer of last season, the want-away Diego Costa.

Yesterday, at the pre-match press conference, ahead of the clash with Spurs on Sunday, Antonio Conte laughed aloud when asked about the claims that Diego Costa believed he was being treated like a criminal.

Whilst the day before, Diego Costa, lurking somewhere in Brazil, had claimed that he would only move to the club he wanted to go to, not to any old club that Chelsea felt they could palm him off on.

Today, the good folk of The Sun are claiming that Chelsea are holding out for £50 million for the Brazilian born Spanish international which, considering the prices being paid in the transfer market recently, seems a more than fair price

Unfortunately for Diego Costa, the club he has set his heart on re-joining Atletico Madrid, are only prepared to offer £30 million for the striker, meaning, by my maths, the two clubs are a whopping £20 million apart in their valuations of the player.

With less than two weeks until the summer transfer window closes, will this saga come to a conclusion?

Will Chelsea lower their price?

Will Atletico Madrid raise their offer?

Or will we all simply watch this whole tardy episode simmer along until the winter transfer window opens in January 2018?

Your thoughts on the subject would be most welcomed.
