Interest Is Mounting When It Comes To The Possible Sale Of This Chelsea Defender

|

The arrival of Ben Chilwell, in the summer transfer window, has ended any arguments relating to who should be the first choice left-back at Stamford Bridge.

But, as we have seen already this season, Chilwell has suffered a few injuries that have required cover to be used, with Frank Lampard having to select either Alonso or Emerson.

Yesterday, a piece of transfer speculation emerged, courtesy of Corriere Dello Sport inferring that the Serie A side, Napoli, are looking to secure Emerson on a loan deal.

Now, personally, if we are going to dispense with the services of either Emerson or Alonso, I would prefer the club to do a permanent deal.

A loan deal only delays the inevitable!

But if Chelsea decide to move Emerson on, would they keep Alonso, or would the ever-dependable Azpilicueta be used as back-up when Chilwell is unable to play?

Your thoughts on the above subject matter are most welcome, please feel free to offer your thoughts in our comment facility beneath this article.

  • Mike Giles says:

I agree permanent sales are what are required not more loans, as it will clog up the opportunity to loan out the up and coming youngsters. We should also try to resign Lamptey gives us cover for both Axpilicueta and James, and could also take the opportunity to move James a bit further forward, maybe covering Kante
