It wasn’t Jose Who Sanctioned Salah Sale Claim

|

But is he being economical with the truth?

Earlier this week, with a rampant Mo Salah scoring a brace to move Liverpool a step closer to the Champions League Final, Vital Chelsea ran an article Click Here, whereby we covered the insinuation that Chelsea would not move players on, in the future, without giving them the opportunity to show their full promise.

It was based on the fact that Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvara Morata were the subject of transfer speculation linking them with a move away from Stamford Bridge, after just one season at the club.

Today, several leading media vehicles are carrying articles that relate to Mo Salah’s time at Stamford Bridge and who was behind the decision to sell him to Roma.

The articles are based on some controversial quotes from Jose Mourinho, remarks that suggest it wasn’t he who sanctioned the sale, with Jose quoted by the news source, ESPN as remarking,

“Chelsea decided to sell him, OK?

“And when they say that I was the one that sold him it is a lie. I bought him. I agreed to send him on loan, I thought it was necessary.

“So, the decision to send him on loan was a decision we made collectively, but after that, the decision to sell him and to use that money to buy another player wasn’t mine.”

Riveting stuff, but the social network sites are alive with various posts relating to the inference made by Jose, with one tweet we stumbled upon,

suggesting that Jose might be being economical with the truth.

Whilst another,

reproduces remarks attributed to Jose that relate to Mo Salah’s career at Stamford Bridge.

But, what are your thoughts on the subject matter?

Who do you believe sanctioned the sale of a player who is now being talked about as being worth in excess of £200 million?
