Antonio Conte has made his decision on a new Chelsea coach for next season? This will be Italian legend Andrea Pirlo. Well, according to former Blues assistant Ray Wilkins anyway.

Pirlo played under Conte at Juventus and is reportedly ready to move into his first coaching role with Chelsea, it’s expected he’ll bring the curtain down on his playing career with MLS side New York City FC later this year, as replacement for Steve Holland.

Wilkins has told talkSPORT Conte wants 37 year old Pirlo, who has been at Stamford Bridge on a ‘number of occasions this year’, to join his backroom staff.

‘I know for a fact he has been around Stamford Bridge on a number of occasions this year. He’s the one that Antonio Conte would like. He managed him at Juventus until he was 34… he is the one he will want to come in [to replace Holland].’

Holland is of course leaving Stamford Bridge to take up a full time coaching role with England.

How about Conte for his replacement then?
