Chelsea begin a run of games this afternoon that have a very intimidating look about them.

A trip to the Etihad Stadium, to take on Manchester City, starts a run that also sees a clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, Manchester United in the FA Cup, Manchester City (again) in the Carabao Cup and Malmo in the Europa League.

However, despite Chelsea’s renowned unpredictability, you wouldn’t put it past the side to provide a performance today and get a result.

A result is definitely needed as results ahead of our game have contrived to see the club slip out of the top-four, with Manchester United grabbing that vital fourth Champions League spot.

But can Maurizio Sarri inspire his side to upset the apple-cart?

As usual, we’re running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we invite you to leave your opinions on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the big fixture.

2 – The starting eleven selected by Maurizio Sarri.

3 – The action as it happens at the Etihad Stadium.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period following the sound of the final whistle.

Up the Chels!

  • And when I say that he’s the last of the “big name” managers, he’s not even on the same scale as some of actual legends that we’ve already burned down. Disgusting. I think I need a year off from watching this dross.

  • Amazing result …. Shocking really …. Sarri looked out of his depth …. Has to bring Kante back to his old position for the cup final !

  • In 52 years supporting Chelsea I can’t remember a blacker day, not even being relegated as at least we were a poor side then. Today is not about lack of quality, it’s about confusion and tactical ineptitude

  • As I’ve only supported Chelsea 49 years I’m a junior but Analooish is bang on its the worst day ever even getting relegated we showed some spirit this lot just roll over hell we did it at Bournemouth for God’s sake I’m going to say it sarri is out of his depth also I’m sorry about this zola has never had success off the field and he too is out of his league that hurt I loved Gianfranco as a player. We need a take over badly we have had enquires then structure the club properly get some football brains behind the scenes.Redknapp said we look like Arsenal that’s scary Chelsea were always hard to beat and even score against not now everyone on this site can predict our subs it’s always the same even our kick off is the same

  • I’m sincerely not surprised with this result as long as Sarri will remain rigid with his tactics, more shocking results await

  • Here is a quote that should tell all of us everything that was need to know about how our club is run: “If the president calls, I’ll be happy, seeing as I never hear from him,” he told Sky in Italy. “To be honest, I don’t know what to expect.” (regarding Sarri, when asked if he expected a call from Abramovich)

  • A disconnected, reclusive, tyrannical, Soviet era oil tycoon come owner, with no people skills. A string of managers with a habit of making passive-aggressive remarks about said owner when things turn to shite. Hmmm. What could be wrong in this picture?
