Whatever Happened to Ross Turnbull?

Another in our occasional series.

For the next in our occasional series I had no intention of picking our former goalkeeper, Ross Turnbull.

But, after watching my daily dose of the greatest moment in the clubs` history, winning the Champions League on that memorable May night in Munich, the sight of Turnbull joining the mass of bodies that piled on top of Petr Cech and Didier Drogba, saw a change of mind.

Turnbull joined Chelsea, in the summer of 2009, on a free transfer from Middlesbrough, signing a four-year contract.

Upon signing, Turnbull was insistent he hadn`t come to Stamford Bridge to play second fiddle to Petr Cech, but unfortunately for the born in Bishops Auckland that proved to be exactly the case.

Turnbull remained at Chelsea until 30 June 2013 when he was released by Chelsea having made just seven appearances in the Premier League.

But Turnbull`s time at the club was during a golden era, with trophies won being plentiful.

But, where did Turnbull`s professional path take him after he left Chelsea?

The goalkeeper, now 33-years-of-age, headed for Yorkshire and has remained there ever since, joining:

? Doncaster Rovers
? Barnsley

And

? Leeds United.

But Turnbull was released by Leeds United in May 2017 and that`s where our trail runs cold.

Can you help us out?

What is Ross Turnbull up to these days?
