Youngster Determined To Show He Can Make The Grade At Chelsea This Season

|

At 21-years-of-age, the young Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham, is at the point in his career whereby the coming season just has to be classed as make-or-break as far as his Chelsea career is concerned.

With Chelsea hit with a two-window transfer ban, Abraham, knows that he is, more than likely, going to get the chance to get his chance in the first-team.

With Frank Lampard looking a nailed-on certainty to be the latest occupant of the managerial hot seat at Stamford Bridge, Abraham, having monitored how Lampard nurtured youth at Derby County, is aware that his chance will come.

After three seasons on loan, with the young striker having spent a season each at Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa, Abraham has been given the opportunity to get the regular first-team football he needed.

Ahead of the new season and as reported by the Metro, Abraham has spoken out what lies ahead not only for him but also for the other young players at the club, remarking:

“There is a great chance for us, so we must get our heads down in training and go for it at Chelsea.

“That’s how all the young players at the club are looking at it.”

And on his own situation, he added:

“I have already been talking to the club about pre-season. I’m going to have a couple of weeks and then come back hitting the ground running.

“I do feel ready for Chelsea. I really do. There is no better time for a young player to be at Chelsea. I am going to give it my all.”

Now that is fighting talk from somebody who knows exactly what is expected of him. But, having scored so prolifically in the Championship, first with Bristol City and then with Aston Villa, does Abraham have what it takes to repeat that feat in the Premier League?

Well, the confident youngster certainly believes so, further adding:

“I have been there, done that and now I have full confidence in my ability to score for Chelsea in the Premier League.”

My personal view is that if Abraham is given the opportunity and the chances come his way, then he could be the revelation we’ve been waiting for. The youngster is sure to get chances in a Chelsea side full of talent and the rest, as they say, is down to him to show he is a cool, calculated and reliable finisher.

I reckon Tammy will get around 15 goals next season for Chelsea, how many do you reckon he’ll get?
