A common topic of conversation, amongst the Chelsea support, is the necessity to improve our defence.
As seems to be the norm, the expectations are that Chelsea will bring in a centre-back from mainland Europe, as has been the case in recent times.
However, speculation is growing that mould may be broken and that Chelsea may be looking closer to home to bolster the defence.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea could be set to make a move for the Brighton and Hove Albion captain, Lewis Dunk.
The 28-year-old has impressed during his time in the Premier League and our quoted reference states that the odds on such a move happening are decreasing.
Sitting here in the editorial chair, I believe that Dunk could be an inspirational buy.
As well as being a Chelsea fan as a youngster, with John Terry his boyhood hero, Dunk is a natural leader, something Chelsea have lacked in recent times.
The possible signing of Dunk could be likened to that of Gary Cahill, our former captain wasn’t seen as a big-money buy but went on to perform admirably in our famous shirt and helping the team to win a plethora of trophies, could history repeat itself?
But do you agree with my thoughts?

If Dunk has all the qualities and attribute as stated in this article, then Chelsea should go for him ASAP.

If lampard see’s he is going to be good defender then we’re good to go
I told my son 4 weeks ago that Lewis Dunk would be a perfect fit for us, a natural leader, comfortable on the ball, solid and brave defensively, both footed and strong in the air.
I also like Nick Pope ( the Burnley keeper) much like Liverpool 2 such strategic signings would be the making of us.. COTB👍🏾
