The Low Down On Why This Chelsea Player Did Not Get A Dream Move

|

There were some nervous moments, for Chelsea supporters, as the closure of the summer transfer window approached.

At one stage it looked as if Bayern Munich would satisfy a long-held ambition to sign our teenage forward Callum Hudson-Odoi.

But, on the final day of the transfer window, it appeared that Chelsea had pulled the plug on the deal, something Vital Chelsea reported on – chelsea-reject-approach-from-top-european-club-for-one-of-its-stars – but was that how it really was?

The reason I ask is that the German media source, The Bild, is reporting that it was the Bavarian club who pulled the plug on the deal.

Seemingly, Bayern objected to Chelsea’s wish for a penalty clause to be paid if Hudson-Odoi did not play enough Bundesliga games.

The German champions were also not playing ball when it came to the clause that suggested they would be obliged to purchase the player, permanently, if he reached a certain number of appearances.

Quite what the player feels about the deal is unknown but all we can hope is that he keeps his head down and continues to progress as a Chelsea player.

But I can not help wondering if this really is the last, we have heard when it comes to this piece of, seemingly, ongoing speculation.
