Two Young Chelsea Midfielders Cut Short Loan Spells To Move Clubs

|

Although being sent out on loan on a season-long deal might be seen as a long-term objective, sometimes things don’t work out that way.

Thankfully, the January transfer window gives players the chance to assess their immediate futures and revisit the situation.

Back in the summer, two young Chelsea midfielders, Lewis Baker and Kasey Palmer were sent out, on season-long loan spells to Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers respectively.

Unfortunately, both saw their moves turn sour with appearances becoming scarce.

As a result, both loan spells were cut short with the players returning to Chelsea.

Thankfully, the opening of the January transfer window has seen opportunities for the players to get regular first-team football.

Twenty-three-year-old Lewis Baker has joined struggling Reading on loan for the remainder of the season whilst twenty-two-year-old Kasey Palmer has joined Bristol City in a similar deal.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’d like to take this opportunity to wish both well for the remainder of the current season at their new clubs
