Match Day Moments – Champions League – FK Krasnodar

|

For the second time, in less than a week, 2000 supporters will be lucky enough to step inside Stamford Bridge and watch Chelsea live in the flesh.

Against Leeds United, on Saturday evening, the 2000, although small in number, they could be heard cheering the lads on as life seeks to return to some degree of normality in these pandemic driven times.

Sadly, the clash with the Russian outfit, FK Krasnodar, is a dead rubber of a game.

A fine 4-0 win, away to Sevilla last week, saw Chelsea secure top place in their group with a game to spare.

They did so by fielding a side that saw several first-choice players sat on the bench as Frank Lampard sought to give game time to fringe members of his squad.

It is a policy we expect him to continue with in this game with the boss choosing to give some rest to key players in what is, to put it mildly, a hectic period when it comes to games to play.

Nevertheless, we are going to run our usual Match Day Moments feature where we encourage you to offer your opinions, throughout the day, on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to this Champions League fixture.

2 – The starting XI selected by Frank Lampard.

3 – The action as it happens at Stamford Bridge.

4 – Your thoughts in the period following the sounding of the final whistle.

Can Chelsea complete the group stages of Europe’s top competition with a win?

I do not see why not, how about you?

    A disjointed performance…

There was no winger in the team.

Kai, Anjorin, Gilmour Kovacic, jorginho, were all midfielders.

Abraham should improve, or else Giroud is taking his place.
